 When I was a little girl I remember watching my grandmother putting on these earrings for very special occasions.  She had several piece of costume jewelry along this line. That is it, I finally got all the Christmas decorations down.  Yes the tree wasn't too much of a pain getting it back into the box.  I am satisfied on that account with my first artificial tree.  I still have my "Winter" decorations up though.  A few scattered twinkle lights here and there, glitter and candles, sparkle and glow that helps get me through the bleak winter days and nights.  Yup...

On a perfect fall day we took a drive for miles and miles up in the dry land wheat country traversing the Horse Heaven Hills outside of our city.  It was amazing how far we could see, as Mt. Adams and Mt. Rainier came into view on our way to Wine Country. We enjoyed a Grape Stomping Festival hosted by Mike Andrews, the owner of Coyote Canyon.  There was a barbecue and 22 teams stomping grapes.

Sunset on the Columbia River Quick up date on Dan the man. He is doing so good.  His six weeks of recuperation from his second hip surgery is over and he is doing just fine!!!  A little tired the first week of work putting in those 8 +...hours at the office, but that is to be expected.  One of the best moments during his recovery came when at 3 weeks he had his blood tested again for the cobalt

I brought Dan home from the hospital today.  Everything seems to be falling into place for a good recovery. I am soooo relieved.  My stress level has been way up there for awhile. Surgery is over...praise God every thing has gone extremly well. Pray for a safe n quick recovery, no infection, and for the metal to clear out of dan's system quickly. The weather is all spring like.  One minute it is sunshine and birds chirping, then the wind comes up, and the next thing you know we have a spring shower. I had a chance in between the changing weather patterns to plant some spring flowers and get my pots all cleaned up and ready to go. Well I finally made some progress in the garden this weekend.  Pruning my roses is taking much longer than I had hoped.  Out of 73 roses though I have only ten more left to prune!    It didn't help that I had a traumatic dental visit earlier this week.  I was getting a crown done. They said 1 1/2 hours...it went 2 1/2 hours. You know it is not going well when they have to numb you three separate

I don't know why I thought I had a hundred roses. I do remember when I went over the 100 mark in my last house. My husband informed me one day as he was apparently keeping track.  He just thought I should know. (wink)  This time I was going to limit myself to 50.   We were down sizing right?  When my cousin came to visit this summer he said I had a hundred roses. Oh no how did that happen.

This weekend was just the opposite of last week.  Nice and easy.
