Swirl & Twirl Painting Classes

 Yes I am starting yet another project.  I am trying to put this building we are renting to good use as we promote the creative arts and our local downtown community.  

 It was a fun afternoon at The Blank Canvas as we launched our new monthly Swirl & Twirl Painting Classes.  A three hour afternoon on a Saturday for relaxing creativity.  We provide all the supplies and snacks.  The folks just come and enjoy themselves.  This was our first run with a specially invited focus group.  They gave us some good feed back as we prepared to launch this in our city. 

 We used a paper doily to lay down a texture for the background.

 I love the different approaches to the same subject matter. 

My heart is to not only promote local artists and their art but to give everyone an opportunity to just enjoy getting involved and enjoy the process of creating something themselves.  This seems like a great idea that is catching on all over the country.

Where Do I Begin?

 The Blank Canvas

Let's see last spring it started off with two engagements, a new non-profit art gallery/event center, teaching, a new grand baby then two weddings to plan...phew!  I made it though =)

                    I am trying to take the month of January off from life...yeah right ;)

Anyways I think where I mostly left off was Jenna's wedding when I didn't have time to figure out why blogger wouldn't let me post pictures.  Now it does, maybe because it it a new year...we will see!

We did have a ball, a good time was had by all!  When the young people pooped out by11:00ish, my friends and I danced the night away after the bride and groom left.  Good times!

I promised a reboot =)

This is what I am mostly up to these days...hanging out with my grand babies!

I promised a reboot to some of my blogging buddies and though I still plan on rebooting In a Garden for now this is my daily ART A DAY project for the month of January.  I feel good about at least starting here.   Pop on over if you want to have a look at my rather beginish attempts at painting again =)
