My Week!

More life is going on in this one week than I think I can stand.  I am so amazed that one week ago tonight I was up all night with my daughter waiting for the arrival of Cora Eve. As of this morning my son in law launched a brand new business.  Finnegan Frost

Here are their first customers

I snatched a very quick shot of my daughter Meg and baby Cora in the pouch less than one week after having her baby.  She is such a trooper, and amazes me at every turn!  Oh and another interesting tid bit the third partner in this new business venture also had a brand new baby three days ago.  Young couples these days astound me.

Thursday night my daughter Jenna Dear announced her engagement.  Yes we knew the big question was coming, but with so much happening around here her boyfriend was having a hard time fitting it in...bless his heart <3  We are just so full of joy!!!

Now I just need some photo's from my one and only son who is also recently engaged living in Minnesota!!!

With grateful hearts full to overflowing to the King of Kings.   I may be a week late but here is my Easter thanksgiving!!!

Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.

Baby Cora Eve made her debut 9:06 am Easter morning. 6 lb. 10 oz. She is a beauty! Meg did an amazing job!!!! Glory to God!!!

Big sister's singing Cora a lullaby to calm her down <3
 they love her soooo much

 Amazing big sis!

So this Nana is wiped out!  Watching my daughter laboring all night all natural was a bit draining.  She wanted the whole experience this time and well she had it.  She did a great job!  It might have been harder on me...well maybe not physically =)

We are all in love with our littlest princess.

One baby down and two weddings to go.  I guess I am  in for the long distance marathon this summer  LOL!

Our World

There is a lot going on in our world this week.  Yesterday we came home from our trip to Puerto Vallarta Mexico to a "Gender Reveal Party" at my daughter Meg's house.  We drove in a few minutes late.  They were all wait for us...yikes ;)  The girlies could wait no longer.  Meg who is 16 weeks pregnant ( I had to keep it a secret for a very loooong time ) had her ultra sound done that day.  She baked a cake and covered it with frosting.  When Meg cut into the cake we all found out by the pink color of the cake inside that we were going to have another precious baby grand daughter.  I couldn't be more full of joy.  My cup runneth over!!!

Today Meg released her new video describing her journey into photography because of our very first grand daughter  aka: Puddin Toes .  We are all so proud of you Megan...you took what was in your heart and made your dreams come true not just for you and your family but for all those you encounter along your way.

Round Three

Babies touring the farmers market with Nana
Eden's 4th birthday!
I can't believe it was only four years ago that Eden our first grandchild came into our lives and changed everything!  How exciting to now contemplate three!

I have been keeping a big secret.  A couple of months ago I was in the kitchen with my daughter Megan and something about her demeanor caught my attention, and I said "Your pregnant !"  NO, NO she stated, couldn't be!  I am not!  Well about two weeks after that little moment she did surprise me with a positive pregnancy test stick one morning when she was dropping the babies off for some Nana time.  I must admit, I squealed with delight.  Woot woot,  here we go again.  Another precious little one to love and cherish in our family.  Since that day for several weeks now I have been keeping her secret.  Today she saw the doctor and made the announcement.  Meg is 9 weeks along and we are expecting grandchild number three on April 19th.  I am so deeply delighted, and at the same time secretly wondering how am I going to keep up with three...LOL!  I am just about catching my breath with Puddin Toes and Sweet Pea.  I am looking around and observing all the grandma's with many grand children.  Any of  you out there with some great pointers...please send them my way!  I feel very blessed...thank you Jesus for your showers of blessings today.

Fun in the Sun!

I can't believe it is the end of summer.  I know this in my brain, but my heart is not ready to let it go.  We had such a late start, and very little heat...for around here.  So I am soaking up every last drop of fun in the sun.

Today we went on a little jaunt out in the country to celebrate a very special birthday, as Miss Puddin Toes turned four!  It was a most enjoyable afternoon.  My daughter was able to rent out this little country barn and accompanying rides just for us, for a very special day.  I skipped the actual county fair this year.  This little place had all of the ambience of the fair and none of the crazy crowds and noise.  What a fun way to enjoy a kids birthday party.

Nana was in charge of the face painting!

Summer skies and sun...please stay for a few more days....and let me drink in your peace and beauty!

Mmm mmm Good!

I got to spend a whole day with Miss Puddin Toes
One of the fun things we did was bake a cake
Do you remember when chocolate was this guilt free?

Chocolate zucchini cake to be exact...this one is from my mom's recipe box.  It is still a family favorite!

 Chocolate Zucchini Cake

1/2 c butter
1/2 c oil
1 3/4 c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c sour milk (you can add 1 tsp. of vinegar to milk)
2 1/2 c flour
1/3 c coco powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. of salt
2 c of shredded zucchini
1/2 bag of chocolate chips

Cream butter, oil, sugar, add eggs, milk & vanilla, blend in the rest of the ingredients.  Stir in zucchini and  2/3 of the chips in the batter, sprinkle the rest on top.  Bake 325 for 45 minutes or so.

This cake should be very moist and chocolatey mmmm.  The little bits of spice turns this one up a notch for me.

It is amazing how doing such a simple thing with a four year old turns into such a special moment.  She helped me every step of the way, pouring in every ingredient and remarking on every scent.  My first grandchild is going to pre-school next week, and I am a little sad...oh how very silly of me  ;)

Weekend Catch Up

Today we had our first family swim in the pool which was opened on Thursday!  We have a few more projects to complete but things are finally getting put back together =)  The jet system is very strong and baby Avey was having fun being let loose to ride the wave.

My weekend started with a brand new purchase from REAL DEALS!  One of those things when you are not really looking and bam...that chair belongs in my house!

We had company join us for the weekend and enjoyed visiting some of the vineyard vistas in our local wine country.  It was a gorgeous day spent with precious friends both old and new.
...and yes it is rose season...so be looking for more to come this week when I start posting pic's from my own garden...the roses are calling your name to come visit us!

Dear Puddin Toes and Sweet Pea

Momma has asked me to send you both updates to your newly created email.  She thought this would be a great way to journal our times together.  Here is an update on our spring 2011.

Eden one day you came over for a visit and we made play dough together.   You had a blast making some very pretty dollies. You love projects and making anything with your hands.

You both love to help Nana bake cookies in her kitchen.  Avey you never want to be left out...you always tell me "I do, I do too!"

 Easter Egg Hunt at Nana's
Avey you were very excited to find your first eggs.

Wow Eden look at all your eggs!
Avey you turned 2 on May 1st. You are our dear May Day baby.  Here you are sharing your birthday cupcake with your sissy. You are so good at sharing!
Eden I had so much fun visiting you at preschool this year for a tea party. Having tea parties is one of our very favorite things to do!  You also love to come with me when we go visit the nursery for flowers.
Just last week we had a very special tea party in my garden. We used leaves for plates and flower petal's for "candy"  We found a special bell flower for our tea cups.  It was a really fun day in the garden!
When you come to my house I even have special garden cloths for you to wear. You both love playing in the sandbox and pouring sand into each others hair.  You should have seen my bath tub the other day after I washed you all off for Momma.
Avey you love smelling my roses.  Which is delightful because your middle name is Rose!
One of your new favorite things to do is play ponies together.  I can't wait to see how much fun we will have together this summer in my garden!
