Oh My the Hats!

SOPHIE, COUNTESS OF WESSEX

Tonight my grand girlies and daughters joined me while we watched the DVR recording of the Royal Wedding.  The grand girlies came over in their princess dresses.  It was a fun way to enjoy a take out supper in front of the telly.   We had to try to keep Eden's interest up by making references to Disney princess movies.  "Oh look Eden, it is like Tangle on the balcony."  I loved all the pomp and circumstance.  The ceremony and the views we had of West Minister Abby were stunning to me.

What probably fascinated me the most though were the hats.  So amazing!!! Nothing like it here in the states.

Here is a quick link to the ones that are getting the most press.

Royal Wedding Hats

My favorite hat was worn by Sophie Countess of Wessex, neutral, classy and of coarse with roses!

Vee asked :  Dare I ask which hats were on the other end of the spectrum for you? ☺

Well I didn't want to add to all the hoopla, but Fergies daughters...OH MY!
Check out the Royal Wedding Hats in the link above and let me know what you think?

I agree with you on the hats. Just an amazing experience to watch all the beauty and pomp. I don't remember Charles and Diana's wedding being quite so much that way, but then our televisions and photography. etc. are so much better than 30 yrs ago.

Oh I didn't even see the Countess of Wessex...married to Edward? Where was Andrew? Didn't see him either. Anyway, I'd agree, her hat is very nice. Dare I ask which hats were on the other end of the spectrum for you? ☺

Oh I found him. Funny thing. He has aged right along with the rest of us so I didn't recognize him at all.

You know, I think it was an 'anything goes' wedding in terms of hats. Sort of a whimsical competition! :) I was most taken with David Beckham, though...he looked downright dishy in his tails.

And the classiest dresser, I thought, was Prince Albert of Monaco's fiance. Understated elegance.

Btw, so good to hear from you. And the photo of you and your husband on the sidebar (datenight) is wonderful. Take care, sweet one.

The hats were so fun to watch. My fav was "Victoria Beckham's". But I thought the best dressed couple (guests) were Price Albert and Charlene Wittstock, so classic!!!

Really enjoyed the link you attached in your post sis, so interesting to view the photos of the former queens and their amazing jewels and wedding cakes!

I do agree my least fav hats were those of the cousins (Fergies daughters) oh my is right, what were they thinking??? :/

Oh...the hats! They were the topic of discussion last night at our BBQ last night. I rather like hats...but many of those were 'out-of-this-world' strange.

I am just not sure if my comment was saved.

I thought Princess Beatrice and Eugenie looked a mess, especially their hats but then their Mother was never renowned for good taste!

Thought the Middletons were all tastefully attired.
