Fun in the Sun!

I can't believe it is the end of summer.  I know this in my brain, but my heart is not ready to let it go.  We had such a late start, and very little heat...for around here.  So I am soaking up every last drop of fun in the sun.

Today we went on a little jaunt out in the country to celebrate a very special birthday, as Miss Puddin Toes turned four!  It was a most enjoyable afternoon.  My daughter was able to rent out this little country barn and accompanying rides just for us, for a very special day.  I skipped the actual county fair this year.  This little place had all of the ambience of the fair and none of the crazy crowds and noise.  What a fun way to enjoy a kids birthday party.

Nana was in charge of the face painting!

Summer skies and sun...please stay for a few more days....and let me drink in your peace and beauty!

Lovely time I can see. These various kind of play areas are popular here too for children's birthdays. I think I spy corn growing in the background.

Feeling the same here. We have not yet had summer, just cold and wet interspersed with the odd warm sunny day and now we are in for a week of wet stormy weather with Scotland coming off worse as the winds from the hurricane reach these shores.

Puddin toes 4! Don't they grow quickly.

Yes!!! Better late than never. We, too, are enjoying summer's lateness and all the fun it affords. We'll actually head out tomorrow for some boat camping that'll take us to Whidbey Island, then on into the San Juan Islands. Can't wait!

I spent many a summer in Eastern WA with family there. Your photos took me back a good many years. And I thoroughly enjoyed the family photos.

Happy Birthday to little miss PT. Looks like a wonderful time was had by all. It's no surprise that you were asked to do the face painting:) Yes....fall is here! Where did the summer go?!

Idyllic! It does look like great fun. We have a nearby pumpkin patch, but it can't be rented for private parties...what a cool idea. Lots of fun without the stress. Happy birthday to Puddin' Toes. May she have a wonderful year! (I do hope that summer will extend into autumn and autumn into winter and then let's end it there. ☺)

You've captured it all well with the beautiful photos. What a fun place to celebrate a birthday! Can't believe PT is four already --- the years fly by.

Looks like a great way to throw a party...I love the lack of crowds too. And the wide open landscapes in your part of the world are amazing.

Such fun! I know what you mean. My heart isn't ready for fall yet either. But we've had warm weather here this week for which I've been grateful! You have such adorable grandkiddies!
