I am still here =>

(If you have dropped by from Vee's follow this link for the lesson and directions to Nita's Link http://inagarden1.blogspot.com/2010/01/focused-on-art-classes.html  )
I am still here reading your blogs.  I just haven't had a chance to post anything interesting.  Here are a few of my students first watercolor assignments.  They were to experiment with color and then try to find a picture in the random color blobs.  I normally teach them technical drawing skills.  This was so out of all of our comfort zones. In the next few weeks we are attempting landscapes.  If we are all still freaking out, I might have to let them do a portrait without watercolors...hahaha.

I vote this one the most creative.Done by a boy. He was so out of his comfort zone.  I gave him a hint when I saw him struggling...think Avatar. At least he didn't give up as some of the guys did!

I have company coming in this weekend, plus Jenna is coming home for a long 4 day weekend!  She told me she needs some peace and quiet and just wants to come home and rest...this is a first!  Usually she is completely bored when back home in the good old Tri Cities.

I let you know how it goes ;)

Oh this is kinda of funny...it is her latest facebook entry

You know uv become ur mother when..cleaning ur room becomes a three hour project includin wiping down the molding in ur room #whodoesthat?

I love that you're posting paintings. I'm just starting with acrylics, myself...and I do mean at the most elementary level, but it's fun!

All of these are lovely and creative, but the one with the bird is my absolute favorite. I was actually thinking of your watercolor flowers below as I painted today. A free-form inspiration! And it's inspiring simply to see others creating.

Have great fun with Jenna home...perhaps you can have her wipe down some molding???

I find this kind of painting so charming...not sure about the heart in hand one's being charming, but it is very good and clever.

Your students' art projects are amazing; I wonder if they can see the beauty in what they have created? And those hands holding the heart bound by a snake...wow! What a message there.

You're a wonderful teacher and have taught them well. :) The watercolor with the pen/ink works so well together. I'm partial to the top one, for some reason...it's so graceful.

Have a good weekend. :)

I am convinced that you are a very good teacher! Your student's art works are most impressive. I would be proud of my work, if I had accomplished works like are pictured here. Beautiful!

I did have to smile at your daughter's Facebook entry. It does hold a bit of truth.

Hope you all have a good weekend together.

These are wonderful! My heart stopped at the snake one though--because last night I had a dream a snake was biting my hand and wouldn't let go! Strange, I know.

I didn't get a chance to comment on your previous post but I wanted to say I always enjoy the posts that relate to your wonderful vacation. I personally don't drink Earl Grey tea so I'm not sure if I would like Lady Grey. But I do love to brew a good pot and have a quiet moment now and then! ~Kathy

Oh how I do love when you share your students' artwork. It is always encouraging to me to see what other artists are doing. These paintings are lovely. If you have a chance, please visit my new blog Remembering Victoria and share a story, if you'd like.

Blessings,
Christi

Hi! I followed my own link and arrived here. The "I'm Still Here" is the linked bit to this post, right??? I didn't link to your "In a Garden" blog, but I could, if you'd prefer or in addition.
