Puzzles

It is so funny when I blog about something, God is usually speaking to me or is about to on that same subject. While I was reading a comment from my last blog from On This Rock it made me think more about my encouragement comment. You see we have been teaching little Ms. PT how to put together some very simple wooden puzzles for about six months now. At first putting a simple yellow rectangle into its proper position was a big deal for her. Then she would get maybe two or three right out of six puzzles pieces and then get distracted or bored with the problem. Last week she sat down with this same puzzle, dumped all the pieces out and proceeded to put them all back in their proper positions with out a hitch. She did ask with each piece as she held it in the air "Whutts that, whutts that?" so cute. We would say a blue oval, green square...you get the idea.

Dan and I were both very proud of her progress and her desire to learn even more about the puzzle. Names of the shapes and the colors of each piece. I am thinking that is how our heavenly Father must feel when we keep persisting in a task till we we get it right and then proceed even further along and glean more information because we are interested to know more about Him and more about His ways. I was thinking in my last post how I wish I could be more patient with myself in some areas. Now I am thinking, wow how patient God is...with me??? Good thing :]

Rom 5:3-5 ...we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

I hope you can find your own source of an "Encouragement Garden" in your life. Where you see patience and persistence giving you experience that will pay off in a whole lot of hope. Perhaps in a way you were not expecting. I am sure God has planted one near by...just ask Him to show it to you.

Pro 3:5-6 Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for GOD's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track.

Cindy,

I love to look into the window of your world and see what the LORD is teaching you. I loved all the pictures of the "Encouragement Garden", they are absolutely stunning!
And this is a sweet thought on the puzzles.

I loved the Encouragement Garden. It stuck with me. I think it's such a lovely name. Now, the puzzles. Great analogy. So much of life is a puzzle. What goes where? When should I add this piece of the puzzle? He designed us and He knows exactly how it should go. I need to slow down and wait and listen.

Hi - Well, I have to say it again "I just love the picture of the Bleeding Hearts" on your header. There is just something there that touches my soul.

Your analogy about the puzzles, learning and patience is said very well. Such a delight to watch your grandchild's mind begin to learn the lessons in life...something that I quite look forward to with my little Sunshine! Thank you for sharing.

Nana Trish: The Encouragement Garden kind of stuck with me too, as you can see by my posting twice on the theme :}
