Lillies

Wow you might need some shades for viewing my new blog look :>
My new header is a photo of my garden that is blooming right now, check back on Thursday for more pic's

The heat wave has broken up a bit here. I have been busy in the garden doing some rearranging and planting of lilies. Our local nurseries got hit with the unseasonal heat and they were discounting some of their crispy lilies. I am so thrilled. I ended up with three new lily plants at a 50% discount. They may not be looking so great this year, but next summer they will be a wonderful addition.

One thing about gardening it has instilled a tiny bit of patience in me :]

I have rearranged a few rose bushes too. They are not looking so wonderful...I do hope they pull through. Sometimes a girl just has to do what a girl has to do.
I am working on a new color scheme of pinks and oranges in one of my beds. Me... the gal who has always dislike orange after living with orange shag carpet in one of our houses in the 70's. Having attended a few wedding recently where the Brides chose some unusual color schemes, that really started to appeal to me...the former I love lavenders, pinks and a touch of blue gal :}

Here is a recent picture of Miss Avey Rose...who is two months old

My most precious lily of all!!!!

I cannot think of a more beautiful way to start my early Monday morning than visiting this blog and seeing all of the beauty it contains! The lilies are so gorgeous and I love the colors involved in the wedding cakes and the floral bouquets. Orange is starting to grow on me. But, like you stated...the prettiest lily of all is the precious one on the last photo. Happy Monday to you!

I have noticed there are a lot of unusual color schemes around these days...but I like the trend. Sounds like you do too.

First things first...how can that child be two months old already? This is shocking!

Okay, so are the new colors more bright and bold? This is the second wedding I've seen recently with the pinks and oranges. I like it.

Hope that your roses don't go completely crisp on you. I know that they need a lot of water.

Enjoy your garden in all of its seasons and states of being. Patience is not one of my virtues, but I do love my little garden projects so perhaps I'll learn some like you.

Hey sis...love the new colors, they remind me of us eating sherbet ice-cream when we were kids. LOL

These shades of hot pink and bright orange are in clothing too, our store is saturated with these bold brights, actually I'm enjoying them too for a change.

Enjoy your cooler weather, think of us in 104-107 this week, it's just soooo wrong!! :/

I agree about the use of colors that at one time were a no no. I am glad, I love the gathering of all those colors together. My love to paint in bright colors. That precious little girl. I have been reading your blog since just about the time she was born. Glad your weather has mellowed out. Blessings

I'm not sure how this post snuck by me...but I'm glad I found it now. I love all your new bright colours...and I too am a 'lavender, pink and blue' gal at heart. And your little Avey Rose is just the sweetest!

My raspberry canes are Chemainus...I think. We dug them up in a commercial field nearby...and no one seems to know for sure. Chemainus is quite a new variety...and are doing really well in our area.
