The Posy Walk

Come for a  morning stroll around my garden.  There is still a cool chill in the air.  The birds are chirping, and I have some bedding plants to put out this morning. The irises are in full bloom, and my roses are popping out daily. After I finish this post I will be "IN A GARDEN" a place my soul delights in.

My new iris combinations are turning out most delightfully

Peonies and roses are starting to strut their stuff.

Thanks for joining me, I will keep you posted on all my new blooms that are out there waiting for me!

It's always a treat to see a garden in another part of the country. We're in the South, so ours are different than what you have...well, some are! :) I really think the peonies are sweet. My g'mother used to call them Pee-O-nees. Accent on the O.

Sweetness!

Now that I've been reading "The Scent of..." I think I have an even better appreciation for those who love their gardens so. (What a great book! Without the reminder on your blog for all this time, I'm sure that it never would've sunk in.)

Your flower combinations are indeed beautiful...the irises and roses are amazing together. It's so interesting to see that your garden stops and beyond is all that great field.

Vee: haha the field is the desert. Sagebrush and everything. It is kind of an oasis garden. We have irrigation water so what we water grows, other wise that is our terrain!

re: The Scent of Water is bases off of a scripture in Job.

Job 14:7-11 (New International Version)

7 "At least there is hope for a tree:
If it is cut down, it will sprout again,
and its new shoots will not fail.

8 Its roots may grow old in the ground
and its stump die in the soil,

9 yet at the scent of water it will bud
and put forth shoots like a plant.

That might help explain my quote from the book at the top of my blog.

Looks more like pages out of my Country Gardens magazine. Wow! What a beautiful array of flowers...especially the last two photos. I sure do hope we get to see more pictures of your roses and peonies strutting their stuff:)

My grandmother observed that one can keep up with one's garden or keep up with one's housework but never both at the same time. How is your housework going during this gorgeous time of year?

Peonies make me very, very happy!

How beautiful are the purples against the parched earth in the background.
Have a great weekend.
